April entered an uncertain period for the wine market, with trading activity and all major Liv-ex indices seeing an overall dip. Although fewer wines traded, the number with an active bid or offer against them remained stable, suggesting buyers and sellers were at a deadlock over price. But it was the sellers that proved to be more flexible. The industry benchmark index, Liv-ex Fine Wine 100, fell 0.5%, while Liv-ex Fine Wine 50 and Liv-ex Fine Wine 1000 were down 0.7% and 1.0%, respectively.
